Letter No. 3 — To Secretary Doug Collins

Status: A standalone letter — not an installment of The Count Continues. Published October 28, 2026 — the delivery of record — and dispatched to the Department the same day (Fastmail Sent, 10:15 AM EDT, to customercare@va.gov). Day 13 of the silence that began when Letter No. 1 reached the Secretary himself on October 15, 2026. The writer's words are published exactly as sent.

Secretary Collins,

Fuck you.

Your department is murdering my father. Not quickly. Slowly — with silence, with records that never arrive, with appointments that exist on paper and nowhere else, with a chart that still names his dead wife as his emergency contact seven years after we buried her. Thomas Alan Bowman Sr. volunteered for the United States Navy twice. He is dying in a veterans home in Daytona Beach, and your office has never once answered him.

You have made an enemy out of me, and I do not make enemies lightly. So I am calling you out, in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ, the Father and the Son: get on a plane, come down here, and sit down in my living room. Stand before me — and before God — and answer for what your system has done to my father.

If you have any integrity at all, you will reach out to me immediately. Not a form letter. Not a staffer. You.

And if you won’t — if you hide behind that office while my father dies unanswered — then hear this: you and I are enemies from now until the end of time, and I will spend what is left of my life making sure the whole country knows your name and what it stands on.
