Dr. Lisa M. Arfons

Status: ACTING — appointed effective April 22, 2026, per VA's senior-executive biography filed with the House Veterans' Affairs Committee.

If one office on this roster owns the founding case of this site, it is hers: the Office of Integrated Veteran Care — the office that absorbed Community Care.

Physician (MD, Case Western Reserve), board-certified in hematology and medical oncology, eight years as chief of hematology/oncology at the Cleveland VA. Acting head of Integrated Veteran Care since April 22, 2026.

Accountable for: whether veterans actually receive the community care the VA authorizes — referral management, scheduling, provider networks, authorization follow-through. Her office’s own Inspector General audit (Report 25-03946-211, September 24, 2026) found that of roughly 2.6 million Community Care Requests for Services, only about 1.2 million were decided within VA’s own three-business-day standard. Consult #9247778 — its March 11, 2026 recommendation never carried out, its appointments scheduled, rebooked, and cancelled — is what that statistic looks like with a name and a face.

To her office’s credit, also on the record: VA eliminated separate precertification for authorized community care effective September 8, 2026 — the kind of red-tape cut credited on His Victories.
