The War Horse News

On YouTube · Nonprofit newsroom founded by Marine veteran Thomas Brennan; staffed by veteran and military-family journalists.

The War Horse is an award-winning nonprofit newsroom reporting on the human impact of military service — veterans, military families, and the VA systems they depend on. Its managing editor Kelly Kennedy was the first reporter to cover burn-pit illnesses in 2008, and its symposiums put VA leadership on stage with the families living the consequences of VA policy.

Why we carry them. It is the care-side newsroom closest to this site’s beat: VA policy told through the veterans and families who absorb it.
