Minority Veterans of America
Minority veterans community and advocacy nonprofit · Co-founded in 2017 in Seattle by Lindsay Church and Katherine Pratt; receives no federal funding
A community built for the veterans the legacy service organizations were not pictured around: veterans of color, women, LGBTQ+ veterans, and religious-minority veterans. Minority Vets runs dedicated program communities for each, publishes member voices, and convenes an annual Equity, Inclusion, and Justice Summit — the 2026 edition was announced for Georgetown Law on September 28, 2026. Alongside the belonging, it does concrete navigation work: housing, case management, and advocacy for families the system underserves.
Why we carry them. When the VSO hall does not picture your family, this is the room that does — community first, with real navigation help attached.
